Satisfied By Love...Day 28

Encouragement from Numbers 31:

God gives Moses instructions for war against Midian, with whom our before mentioned Balaam is fighting.  Balaam dies, along with many others, and Israel is victorious.  Not only do they win this war but...

"...the officers who were over the thousands of the army, the commanders of thousands and the commanders of hundreds, came near to Moses and said to Moses, 'Your servants have counted the men of war who are under our command, and there is not a man missing from us.' "
Number 31: 48-49

They did not lose a single man from the army!

And when the battle was over and they had gathered again, they brought an offering to make atonement for themselves before the Lord.

This same God, who struck down thousands with a plague because of their disobedience and who gave instructions to stone those who broke the law did not let one man parish in this fight.

The Israelites were not complaining or grumbling.  They did what God asked in the way he instructed and they prospered.

This is the God we serve!  A God who gives us direction to follow for our good!  A God who desires the best for us if we would choose to accept it and trust Him and walk as He leads.  A God who is worthy of praise because He knows the beginning, the end, and everything in between.  He is the God we worship.

Thank you, Lord, that your ways are better than our ways and your thoughts higher than our thoughts.  You are the beginning and end so let us trust your direction because you see the whole picture.  We can only see what is in front of us right now.  Thank you for not overwhelming us with more.  May we accept what you have given us right now and trust that all you have given is good.
